You will learn about the unique healing and nutritional qualities of each tea and have the opportunity to taste various blends and even request special blends which will be prepared for you the same day in our workshop.

Learn how to heal and strengthen yourself in the ways of our beloved forebearers. The practice of drinking the leaves of the trees, petals, shrubs and roots in our environment is a practice that is embedded into every African culture and ethnic group across the continent. Tea drinking has been used since the dawn of African history in our traditional spiritual practices, at times of birth, rites of passage, during funeral ceremonies and to initiate a process of healing.

Each concoction is prepared according to the desired result. Much of the knowledge of these traditions has been lost by colonization and the adoption of Westernized lifestyles. However, as the global African nation restores and heals itself by absorbing the ways and endless well of knowledge of our ancestors the drinking of African herbs is a step closer in our journey of discovery. Our tearoom is a place to welcome you to start that journey with Aguma.
